ManageWP is a well-known dashboard for looking after a lot of WordPress sites. The free tier covers unlimited sites. When you want more, you turn on premium add-ons per site, per month. Uptime, backups, security checks, client reports, and the rest are billed separately. Agencies with 25+ sites can buy bundles (commonly $25 per add-on for up to 100 sites, or $150 a month for the all-in-one pack covering up to 100 sites). Check ManageWP’s pricing page before you buy, because add-on lists move.
That is a fair product if you only run WordPress and you like picking features one by one.
I needed something that also covers Joomla, and that does not turn “uptime plus backups plus a security scan plus a client report” into four line items.

How the pricing actually compares
ManageWP (public pricing, late August 2026):
- Free core on unlimited WordPress sites (updates, basic dashboard, a monthly backup, 24/7 support).
- Premium add-ons billed per website, per month. Independent roundups put most add-ons at about $1/site/month (uptime, automated security, performance, advanced client reports, white label, SEO ranking, link monitor) and backups / vulnerability protection around $2/site/month.
- Bundles for larger fleets: a flat fee per add-on for up to 100 sites, or $150/month for the all-in-one package covering up to 100 sites. Bundles can stack.
CMS Inspect:
- Free: site inventory, shared dashboard, WordPress and Joomla agents connected.
- Operations: $1 per active site / month. That unlocks updater and installer workflows, command logs, bulk actions, malware/security scan triage, database and file backups with Drive/Dropbox upload, Google Analytics linking, audit history, CSV exports, and reporting.
So a ten-site WordPress-only shop that only needs updates can stay on ManageWP’s free tier and be happy. A ten-site mixed fleet that wants uptime, off-server backups, security triage, and a client report is looking at stacked add-ons on ManageWP, or $10/month on Inspect.
I am not saying ManageWP is a bad tool. It is WordPress-only, and the bill grows with each add-on you switch on. Inspect is built for people who also have Joomla in the mix and want the ops bundle at a single $1 rate.
What Inspect actually does
Not a plugin that replaces your page builder or your forms. It is the control layer around the sites:
- Uptime with status history and clearer incident context
- Queue, run, and retry plugin, theme, extension, and core updates with an audit trail
- Database and file backups uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox, so recovery is not stuck on the same server
- Security findings you can triage and suppress
- Google Analytics linked into reports
- Client-ready exports

When ManageWP is still the better fit
Stay on ManageWP if your whole world is WordPress, you already live in that dashboard, and you only want one or two add-ons. The free core is generous. GoDaddy’s cloud setup is familiar to a lot of agencies.
Look at Inspect if you:
- run WordPress and Joomla in the same fleet
- want uptime, safer updates, off-server backups, security triage, and reports without stacking add-ons
- prefer $1 per active site instead of per-feature line items
- want backups sitting in Drive or Dropbox, not only on the same host
